Report: Martin Demichelis will take over Bayern Munich II on his own

Once thought to be part of a tandem head coaching assignment, Martin Demichelis will be on his own with Bayern Munich II.

According to a report from Tz journalist Jonas Austermann, Martin Demichelis will be running the show on his own for Bayern Munich II this season.

Once thought to be co-coaching with Danny Schwarz, Demichelis will be running the show on his own. The Regionalliga does not have the same stringent licensing requirements for its coaches.

Demichelis is currently working through the licensing process, but does not need to have his official paper work to manage a team in the Regionalliga:

After Martin #Demichelis and Danny #Schwarz acted as a coaching team for the #FCBayern amateurs at the end of last season, Demichelis is now the sole boss after relegation. Background: In the regional league, the ex-professional is allowed to coach without a soccer coaching license.

It was always curious how the co-coaching set-up would have worked on a long-term basis, but we will not find out this season. Demichelis will have his work cut out for him in trying to help Bayern Munich II rediscover its form after a horrid 2020/2021 campaign.
