Bayern Munich Frauen have announced the signing of Glódís Viggósdóttir from FC Rosengård. The center-back has signed a three year contract, keeping her in Munich through the summer of 2024.

“My first impression is that everything is very, very professional here,” Viggósdóttir said. “The Campus is obviously amazing and has everything that we as players need.”

Last season, Bayern played Rosengård in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarterfinals, and Viggósdóttir played all 180 minutes for the Swedish club in Bayern’s 4-0 aggregate win.

“I want to win the league with the team and go as far as possible in the Champions League,” Viggósdóttir said when asked about her goals for the upcoming season.

She will wear number 14, replacing the departing Amanda Ilestedt.

“We’re delighted to sign an internationally experienced player for FC Bayern,” sporting director Bianca Rech said. “To deal with the loads and challenges in the coming season, we need a large, high-quality squad.”
