Back in April, Bayern Munich announced the signing of Weronika Zawistowska on a three-year contract. Bayern also announced at the time that Zawistowska would be going out on loan right away in order to guarantee her some experience playing at the Bundesliga level. Now, that loan has been announced.
FC Köln won promotion back up to the Frauen Bundesliga last season, and that’s where Zawistowska will be playing now. She’ll be joining a club featuring two former Bayern players in Mandy Islacker and Eunice Beckmann.
“Weronika is a very talented offensive player with a lot of potential,” Bayern Frauen sporting director Bianca Rech said. “We have drawn up a plan with Weronika on how we want to develop her together over the next few years.”
Last season in Poland, Zawistowska won the double with Czarni Sosnowiec.
She becomes the second Bayern Frauen player going out on loan this year. It was recently announced that Julia Pollak would be joining Bayer Leverkusen for the season.
