Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski will definitely benefit from the extra rest

Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is known for keeping himself in phenomenal shape, but even the Polish Hitman felt the effects of the last two years.

If you look at the last five weeks, when I played four matches and had previously been treating an injury, I have not played as many matches as in the years before. There were a lot of matches overall in the season, I had to look at my training more individually to be prepared for the European Championship,” said Lewandowski to the Poland national team website. “Emotionally, the last few weeks have been exhausting, although there have actually been fewer matches.”

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann got out in front of Lewandowski’s fatigue and gave the star striker some extra time off to recuperate as the Polish Hitman will report training camp later this month.

A rejuvenated and fresh Lewandowski could mean even bigger trouble to Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga opponents.
