Just a few months ago, Bayern Munich made former RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano its prized signing of this transfer window.
After a few days of finally getting his feet wet in Bavaria, Upamecano is glad that he made the move.
“My first days were great. I’m very happy to be here now,” said Upamecano (as captured by FCBayern.com). “FC Bayern is a big club with world-class players. I want to play as much as possible and I’ll give everything. I’m fast and aggressive, I always give 100%, no matter what.”
Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn is counting on just that and is backing Upamecano to make an immediate impact.
“Of course we expect him to perform as well as he did at Leipzig. We’ve observed him for a few years and we’re convinced he can help us with his quality — his strength in challenges, his build-up play, his technique,” said Kahn.
