According to a report from Sky Italia, former Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery’s tenure with Serie A side Fiorentina appears to be coming to an end. The club has since confirmed the news on its Twitter account.

The 38-year-old’s contract has expired and the veteran winger is facing a tough decision on his future. Should he continue to trudge forward and look for a new club or is it time to hang up his boots once and for all?

Clearly, whatever he decides, it will not be easy for the Frenchman:

No future for Franck Ribery at Fiorentina! According to information from Sky Italia, the 38-year-old’s expiring contract should not be extended. #SkySport#Ribery#Florenz#TuUpdate

Ribery’s time at Bayern Munich helped him reach the status of club legend and the 2013 treble-winner has spoken openly about his desire to come back to Bavaria for a role within the club.

Whatever happens, Ribery has had an excellent career and whatever decision he makes, he’s fully earned the right to whatever path he decided to follow moving forward.
