Bayern Munich announced today that Amanda Ilestedt and Simone Boye Sørensen would both be leaving the club this summer. Ilestedt’s contract is expiring after two years in Munich, while Boye Sørensen has asked the club for her release.

Ilestedt sounds like she’s prepared to leave Germany and try things out in another country. “We would like to thank Amanda for the successful two years,” sporting director Bianca Rech said. “We had several discussions last year, but respect the decision that she is looking for a new challenge after four years in Germany. We wish Amanda every success.”

The club states that Boye Sørensen ask for her release for “private reasons.” During her two-and-a-half season in Munich, Boye Sørensen was plagued with injuries and only managed 32 appearances in all competitions during that time.“ With Simone, an incredibly helpful player is leaving us. Thank you very much for the time we spent together and wish her all the best,” Rech said.

The Bavarians, however, continue to build their squad for next season. According to a report from Aftonbladet, Sofia Jakobsson will be joining Bayern following her departure from Real Madrid. The 31-year-old veteran will be joining the Swedish national team at the Olympics this summer before starting the season with Bayern. This keeps Bayern’s Swedish contingent at two with Hanna Glas sticking around Munich.
