Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka to Manchester United? Never.

Manchester United wants Bayern Munich star midfielder Leon Goretzka to replace Paul Pogba. The scary part is that the Premier League club could at least have an ever-so-slim chance if the Bavarians do not ramp up their financial package to the 26-year-old:

Manchester United view Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba this summer, Sport Bild reports. He has another year left on his contract, but Bayern are yet to make any progress over committing him to a new long-term deal. Goretzka is willing to extend his stay but also believes his market value has increased with his consistent displays for the Bundesliga champions.

David Alaba was offered a stunning wage package of around €19.5 million per year, but he snubbed the offer to join Real Madrid for free. Both Joshua Kimmich and Goretzka consider the figure as a benchmark for them to extend, which has made the negotiations complicated.

By all accounts, Goretzka wants to stay with Bayern Munich, but the club has been extremely reluctant to upset its wage structure too much. Of course, blowing the budget up for Leroy Sane last season probably did not help with all of the key players who need to be renewed, but there is plenty of reason to think Goretzka and the club can find an accord.

Sport Bild’s Christian Falk gave his input on the matter as well:

Goretzka had also been loosely linked to both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as well.

Sancho to United a done deal (@cfbayern)

It looks like Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho will leave the Bundesliga for Manchester United:

Rabiot’s mom is a piece of work (RMC Sport)

If we know anything about Juventus midfielder and France star Adrien Rabiot, it is that his mother has a “hands on” approach to his career.

Well, Ol’ Ma Rabiot is at it again as she confronted the parents of both Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe after France was eliminated from the European Championships:

According to reports in France, Veronique Rabiot began to confront Paul Pogba’s family after he lost the ball in the build-up to Switzerland’s 3rd goal of the day.

Veronique Rabiot is then said to have asked Kylian Mbappe’s father to tell his son off so that he would be less arrogant. An aggressive exchange of words then occurred between Veronique and Mbappe’s mother and father, with the latter believed to have been clashing with families for about 20 minutes.

For hockey fans, Mrs. Rabiot makes even the Lindroses seem laissez-faire.

Swiss fan get the royal treatment (Sport Bild)

Swiss fan Luca Loutenbach gained notoriety as the emotionally charged person living and dying with each moment of his team’s dramatic win over France. Because of that, he’s earned free airfare to the quarterfinals:

As reported by the Swiss media, the super fan can travel to Saint Petersburg on Friday - for free! How come? On Twitter, he asks the airline SwissAir how many retweets he needs to be able to fly to the quarter-finals of Switzerland against Spain on Friday (6 p.m. / ZDF and live ticker at BILD.de). The answer follows just minutes later. The company writes: “Contact us by direct message and we will make your dream come true.” He can also take someone with him. Swiss media spokesman Michael Stief on “20M Minuten”: “We organized him a seat on the plane. His expression represented how the whole country felt.”

I cannot shake the fact that this guy looks like Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) from Jaws:

Löw not going Dutch (@cfbayern)

Joachim Löw is not interested in taking over The Netherlands:

Leverkusen eyeing Kabak (Sport Bild via @swearimnotpaul)

Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly eyeing Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak, who was last seen on loan with Liverpool:
