The Bayern Munich Frauen capped off a sensational season with a 4-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt to clinch the Women’s Bundesliga.

The Frauen’s title win meant that the club celebrated league titles for both the men’s and women’s teams winning the Bundesliga for the third time, after back to back triumphs in 2015 and 2016.

“I think it’s absolutely great. If you win 20 out of 22 games in a season, you’ve more than earned it. It’s not just the wins, it’s the way the women play,” said Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer to FCBayern.com. “It’s really great and that’s why they are deserved German champions. If you’ve seen the technical level today, and the physical ability, you have to say that women’s football has developed tremendously. I’ve always said we want to be top not just in Germany but also in Europe. We’ve achieved this nationally and, of course, we want to go even further internationally.”

Bayern Munich current CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was equally as happy to see the Frauen secure the crown.

“Our women have played a great season. Today they became German champions and they did well in the Champions League. We can only pay them a big compliment,” said Rummenigge. “I think the development of women’s football at FC Bayern is extremely positive. We’ve been doing this for 50 years, you shouldn’t forget that. The way things have developed over the past five to ten years, you have to tip your hat.”

Finally, future CEO Oliver Kahn also loved seeing the Frauen secure their first league title in five seasons.

“After five years, the title is finally coming back to Munich. Congratulations to the players, the staff and all those responsible for this great success,” Kahn said. “I’m already looking forward to next season. We can still achieve a lot with this team.”

The accolades did not end there, however.

Thomas Müller hit Twitter to praise the squad:

My warmest congratulations to you @FCBfrauen! That was a very strong season with an unbelievable goal difference of 82: 9 Thumbs up Have fun while celebrating!! #miasanmeister#fcbayern
