After Germany’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Denmark, a story broke that Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich became so agitated with Leroy Sane’s non-committal attitude to pressing and defending that he started yelling at Sane on the pitch.

Kimmich, who is known for a bit of overzealous behavior at times, did not see any issue with what happened.

“To be honest, I didn’t even see it as a dispute. That was a pressing situation where I had the feeling: We now have a chance to press. Leroy then made a different decision,” said Kimmich in an interview with SPOX.

The misalignment on strategy was nothing major to Kimmich, who indicated things like that happen all of the time.

“In general, such situations happen very, very often on the pitch. I just think that we can go a little further when it comes to communication,” Kimmich said. “We are a lot of guys from different clubs and until last week we didn’t have the chance to train with the entire group.”

In addition, Kimmich knows that Sane is a gifted player that Germany needs for the squad to be successful.

“Generally speaking, Leroy is a very special player for us. He brings incredible quality and can carry us especially in the big and important games,” Kimmich. “It is also important for us that we work well and compactly as a team, and that we communicate a lot with one another.”
