Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer was a big fan of Hansi Flick, but the veteran goalkeeper knows that all good things eventually come to an end.
Now, Neuer will be working under former RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann and the 35-year-old is looking forward to getting started with the new boss.
“I expect some lively discussions. We’re all aware of his football expertise,” Neuer said in an interview with the club website. “I’m looking forward to working together, to new challenges and new tasks, even at my age.”
Nagelsmann, of course, is just 33-years-old and will be younger than his squad’s captain. Neuer, however, does not think that it will be such a big deal. Nagelsmann’s experience and his coaching prowess will mean more than his age per Neuer.
“I certainly wouldn’t have expected it a few years ago. But it’ll be a normal situation. He’s already gained a lot of experience at Hoffenheim and Leipzig.”
