In what has officially marked an end to the Joachim Löw era, Germany have been eliminated from the Euros after a 2-0 loss in the Round of 16 to England.
This was the first time in the history of the DFB that their men’s side was eliminated in the Round of 16. The last time England beat Germany in the knockout stage of a major tournament was the 1966 World Cup final.
On this episode we tackle:
- What exactly happened in the game, who missed, who stepped up, and the overall feel for the game
- How much blame falls on Joachim Löw and what does this mean for his legacy going forward
- How the squad selection before and during the tournament set the team up for failure — again
- What Germany has to look forward to in the short term
