In a recent interview with “51” magazine, former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick gave some thoughts on his successor, Julian Nagelsmann, and how he thinks the 33-year-old will have “fun” in taking over on Säbener Straße.
“I think Julian Nagelsmann will have a lot of fun with this team because they have enormous quality and a great attitude,” Flick said. “I texted him that too. It’s a top team that knows what’s important.”
Flick is expecting Nagelsmann to have great success in Bavaria and opened up on how vital it was the he established a level of comfort within the group. If anything, Flick would advise Nagelsmann to take that same approach with relationship building and communication.
“Success as a coach is different (to as a player). It’s important to me that everyone feels comfortable. Only then can you achieve top performances,” Flick said. “I think we did that. It’s just a pity that we couldn’t celebrate our many titles with the fans in the stadium last year.”
