Despite seeing his team draw with Denmark, Germany manager Joachim Löw was happy to have Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller and Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels back with the squad.
“Both played a good game,” said Löw (as captured by Tz). “Mats had problems with the patellar tendon at the front of his knee in the second half, which hindered him a little while sprinting, but that’s not tragic. After a day’s break, we’ll get back at it again. Communication with the troops was better, it wasn’t as quiet as it used to be.”
No doubt, adding Müller and Hummels will increase the team’s communication on the pitch. Now, however, Löw needs to fix up some tactical issues ahead of the next friendly against Latvia.
“We now have to sprinkle a few intense sessions before the Latvia game, especially in the tactical areas,” said Löw. “The situational play can be improved. We still have to practice our responsibilities defensively and offensively. Some applications were not right; that is still the topic.”
