Per Sport1 reporter Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal), Alexander Nübel will move to AS Monaco on a two-year loan. With paperwork and the medical completed and out of the way, Nübel will be joining Monaco’s training camp in Austria tomorrow. Although the loan is for a period of two years, Bayern Munich have secured the option to call the 24 year-old back after a year should the need arise.
Update #Nübel: Medical check and paperwork’s done. He has signed a 2-years-contract. #FCBayern can get him back after one year. Tomorrow he will fly with @AS_Monaco to the training camp in Austria. @SPORT1

After a period of uncertainty, the Nübel situation has finally come to a conclusion — for the next two years atleast. Ligue One, like the Bundesliga is a fantastic league to further the development of young goalkeepers. Former Bayern coach Niko Kovač took Monaco to a top three finish last season, which also saw Lille lift the trophy beating PSG by a mere point. Monaco themselves were only five points behind the champions in what was a heated race to the title. With a third place finish, Kovač and his men have earned a Champions League qualifying spot. The option to recall Nübel after a year works best for all parties and this deal will be made sweeter if Monaco qualify for the CL group stages. All the best Alex!
