It was an....interesting choice of attire.

Bayer Leverkusen phenom Florian Wirtz is unquestionably one of the best young talents in all of Germany.

After winning the U-21 European Championships with Germany, the youngster headed out for a bit of a holiday, but like any hardworking lad, Wirtz wanted to get in some time on the treadmill so he does not get out of shape during this down time.

While some people might opt for a t-shirt, whip out a tank top, or even cut the sleeves off their shirt to display the “gun show”, Wirtz had other ideas.

The 18-year-old who has an estimated market value of €45 million had a “higher class” alternative, however. Wirtz hit the treadmill in a Bayern Munich jersey!

But before anyone gets too excited, Wirtz was not sending some kind of cryptic message to Bayer Leverkusen management and was certainly not making a statement about his future intentions.

It turns out, this was a jersey he exchanged with a Bayern Munich player from a game back on June 6th, 2020. Wirtz had a goal in the contest.

At this point, it is unclear which player Wirtz exchanged jerseys with.
