According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Bayern Munich is among the teams interested in signing Ecuadorian center-back Piero Hincapié, who currently plays for Argentine Primera División club Talleres de Córdoba and the Ecuador national team.
Just 19-years-old, Hincapié is drawing rave reviews for his defensive ability and versatility. In addition to center-back, Hincapié can also slide outside and play as a left-back where required. Hincapié is allegedly available for €10 million.
At this stage, it would appear very unlikely that Bayern Munich would make a serious run at Hincapié. Sure, the cost would seem to be too high for the Bavarians right now, but with Lucas Hernandez, Alphonso Davies, and Omar Richards forming the left-footed defensive contingent at this point, Hincapié might be considered more of a luxury than a need. It is conceivable that Bayern Munich could potentially be interested in adding a left-footed center-back prospect, €10 million for Hincapié seems like a stretch.
While right-footed — and also if he decides to stay in Munich — Niklas Süle can also play on the left-side as he did when he used to partner with Jerome Boateng on the backline.
Regardless, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, AC Milan, Newcastle United, Celtic, Paris Saint-Germain, RC Lens and AS Roma are also allegedly interested in the youngster.
