I never try and get into politics on the podcast. But the issue over whether or not to light the home of Bayern Munich in rainbow colors isn’t a political issue. The rights of LGBTQ+ people are not a political issue. It’s a human rights issue. I hope we can see the Allianz Arena decked out in rainbows tomorrow from the fans, to the decorations, to the stadium itself. Please let’s get this done.
Moving on from that, Croatia is joining England and the Czech Republic in the Round of 16, further pushing the issue on third place teams with three points to their name. We talk about that as well as the other game today on this episode:
Today’s Games:
Group D: CRO 3-1 SCO [ 17’ Vlasic; 42’ McGregor; 62’ Modric; 77’ Perisic ]
Group D: CZE 0-1 ENG [ 12’ Sterling ]
Tomorrow’s Games:
Group E: Slovakia v. Spain (Estadio de La Cartuja — Sevilla, Spain) 12:00 noon ET
Group E: Sweden v. Poland (Krestovsky Stadium — St. Petersburg, Russia) 12:00 noon ET
Group F: Portugal v. France (Puskas Arena — Budapest, Hungary) 15:00 ET
Group F: Germany v. Hungary (Allianz Arena — Munich, Germany) 15:00 ET
