According to a report from the Daily Record, Bayern Munich and Celtic are battling over Aston Villa youth goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo:
Former Ayr United goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo has been linked with a sensational move to European giants Bayern Munich.
The 19-year-old Finn, who spent last year on loan at Somerset Park from Aston Villa, is also reportedly on the radar of new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglu.
Sinisalo made 29 appearances during his loan stint north of the border last season, keeping seven clean sheets in the Championship, but was forced to return south four games early due to a groin strain.
In addition, Abendzeitung is reporting that RB Leipzig is also interested in Sinisalo:
In addition to Bayern, RB Leipzig is also interested in Sinisalo. The Saxons are currently also looking for a new number two for the coming season. However, Celtic Glasgow is said to have the best cards. At the top Scottish club, the 19-year-old could fill the role of goalkeeper.
As stated above, Celtic probably offers Sinisalo the clearest pathway to first-team playing time, but the youngster could also weigh how much a season working under Manuel Neuer or Peter Gulacsi might help his development.
With Alexander Nübel reportedly ready to leave Bavaria on a loan assignment to just about any club that will have him, Sinisalo could be an intriguing developmental option for Bayern Munich.
