Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge will be stepping down from his post in just a matter of days.
The closing of this era has give Rummenigge time to reflect on his time as both a plater and executive at the club. Next season, however, Rummenigge will not have a say in the daily affairs of the club and think that he an Uli Hoeneß could end up like a pretty famous duo if they link up in the grandstands next season at the Allianz Arena.
“We’ll all celebrate together again. I’m already looking forward to it, because this is my third phase at FC Bayern — as a fan who just wants to enjoy. I’ll hang in there when the La Ola sloshes through the arena and I won’t lack the volume,” said Rummenigge (as captured by Tz). “Now, I am curious myself whether I can withdraw more and get upset less when I am no longer responsible. But maybe I’ll be sitting next to my friend and long-time companion Uli Hoeneß — and we two old people grumble from above like Waldorf and Statler in the Muppet show.”
