Per Sport1 reporter Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) Bayern Munich’s second in goal, Alexander Nübel, will likely see more minutes next season with the club bosses planning a loan for the Paderborn native. AS Monaco have prioritised signing Nübel with former Borussia Dortmund keeper Roman Burki as an alternate option.
The 24-year-old has barely seen game time at Bayern so far and this loan move might just be the perfect solution to keep him on his toes and gain more experience as a first choice keeper.
Update #Nübel: @losclive is 100 % out of the race! In 14 days it should be clear where AN will move to. Sure: Loan without an option to buy. Kahn & Co are coordinating with AN the best option. @AS_Monaco is still hot. Bürki is their 2nd choice. @SPORT1 #MeineBayernWoche

With LOSC Lille no longer in the picture, the Bayern brass — under Oliver Kahn — are analyzing the next step for Nübel. The current situation is a little tricky as 35 year-old Manuel Neuer is going strong showing no signs of slowing down. On the other hand, Nübel, who was brought to Bayern with the promise of game time, hardly left the bench. If the club sees the young German as Neuer’s successor in goal, he will have to be playing regularly. That however, isn’t likely in the near future at Bayern with Neuer standing tall in front of him.
The stakes are high for Kahn and co. to get this succession plan right and pick the best move for Nübel. Considering that, a couple of years under Niko Kovac as Monaco’s first choice keeper doesn’t sound bad at all.
