Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich was not happy with Germany’s 1-0 loss to France, but the 26-year-old also did not think it was the end of the world.
Kimmich saw progress by the team against an excellent opponent.
“We were not the worse team, we dominated the game, and then we fell behind due to a very, very unfortunate goal against us,” Kimmich said (as captured by Tz). “Otherwise, there were relatively few scoring chances on both sides. We didn’t take full risk and open up completely. Yes, it’s a pity. A point would have been deserved.”

Even left with feeling like his squad should have secured a point, Kimmich was optimistic about things moving forward.
“We have the level to keep up with the top teams here,” said Kimmich. “France is a top favorite and we have to show in the next game that we are also a top favorite.”
The big question for Germany fans is if the squad can regroup and take on a tough Portugal side, along with a game Hungary team. This group...offers no slouches.
