Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard believes that the French national team will become the superior squad compared to his club if they can manage to win this year’s European Championship. A significant portion of analysts and former players put France as the clear favorites for the tournament, so it wouldn’t be surprising for this statement to come true.
“They are two great teams. If we [France] win the European Championship, I would say that France is better than Bayern,” Pavard said in an interview with eurosport.de.
Benjamin Pavard on facing his Bayern teammates: "They're my friends at club. But on Tuesday they'll be my opponents. If I have to put a tackle in, I'll do it. It's going to be an exciting game in Munich. They're a good team but there won't be any particular pressure" pic.twitter.com/6ZHY8gWYGg

Despite Pavard’s successes in Munich since his arrival from VfB Stuttgart, he is still not satisfied with his accomplishments. Even after his 2018 World Cup win, he is determined to continue winning titles as that is what motivates him. “I don’t have time for that. I play football to win titles and not to earn money. But I am still missing one title,” Pavard said about his interest to win the European Championship.
If France does win the Euros, Bayern Munich would surely have a large role in their victory with Benji, Lucas Hernandez, and Corentin Tolisso all looking like starting players for Les Bleus. Though it wouldn’t be possible, it sure would be incredible to see a hypothetical France vs Bayern Munich game.
