New Bayern Munich manager is known for his player-friendly tendencies and the young boss is not wasting any time ensuring that his boys are as fresh as possible for the upcoming season.

Breaking tradition, Nagelsmann will not take his team to a training camp and will instead have the squad train on Säbener Straße. The move is being implemented to ease the wear-and-tear of travel on a roster that has endured a 14-month stretch with a condensed club schedule, mixed with various international commitments, including this summer’s European Championships (per Abendzeitung):

Bayern Munich’s new coach Julian Nagelsmann has decided not to attend a training camp in preparation for the new season, according to information from the “Bild” newspaper (Friday).

Accordingly, the 33-year-old wants to save the national players in the team of the German record champions after the European Championship and in view of the tightly timed first half of the season. Nagelsmann will therefore work with the team the entire time on the Bayern site on Säbener Strasse in Munich.

The defending champion’s preparation starts on July 6th. On the first weekend in August, Bayern will start the season with the first main round of the DFB-Pokal.

The move should be popular with players, who can use their normal routine to help balance their work/life commitments.
