Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has been mentioned in transfer rumors once again with clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea, but club president Herbert Hainer will not hear any nonsense suggesting Lewandowski will leave Säbener Straße.

“Robert is the best striker in the world. He’s still got a two-year contract here, and I can well imagine we’ll keep him here even longer,” Hainer said to Bayern Munich club magazine “51” in a recent interview.

Hainer knows that Lewandowski still has much left to offer Bayern Munich — even as he approaches the ripe old age of 33. In fact, Hainer is among those who think Lewandowski has a legitimate chance to break Gerd Müller’s records of 365 Bundesliga goals.

“At the moment he’s standing at 277 goals. If he stays healthy and extends it again with us, that’s possible,” said Hainer. “I trust him to do everything. Robert is an absolute godsend for us.”
