Former Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has left Everton and accepted the job at Real Madrid per an official announcement from the Spanish club:
Real Madrid C. F. announces that Carlo Ancelotti will be the club’s first-team coach for the next three seasons. The ceremonial signing of the contract will take place tomorrow with club president Florentino Pérez at Real Madrid City, after which Ancelotti will address the media from 6pm (CET) in an online press conference.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano capture Ancelotti’s statement on the move:
Carlo Ancelotti official statement/farewell: “While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time. I’m joining Real Madrid”. #EFC #Real #Ancelotti

Ancelotti was previously at Real Madrid from 2013 through 2015 before accepting the head coach position at Bayern Munich. Ancelotti’s approach and overall understanding of the Bayern Munich roster turned out to be a major detriment — as did his penchant for nepotism and rampant inflexibility.

From there, Ancelotti moved to Napoli and subsequently Everton, where he (kind of, sort of) did an okay job.
