The Bayern Munich Frauen earned a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg earlier today that leaves the squad two points ahead the Wolves with two games left on the Frauen Bundesliga schedule.
Wolfsburg, a perennial power in women’s football, is clearly going to push Bayern Munich until the very end.
“The point is extremely important because we still have everything in our own hands,” said head coach Jens Scheuer after the game. “We showed the right mentality today, stood up to it in the duels and didn’t let ourselves be intimidated.”

Bayern Munich has been fantastic all season, but it appears the injuries sustained over the course of this season might be starting to catch up. Jovana Damnjanović, Giulia Gwinn, Ivana Rudelić, Carina Schlueter, Kristin Demann, and Julia Pollak have all missed significant time or are currently out. The big question is if the Frauen have enough gas left in the tank to close out this season in a strong manner.
Given the resilience and brave play the squad has exhibited all season, that should not be an issue.
In this match, Sydney Lohmann scored in the 34th minute for Bayern Munich, while Ewa Pajor saved a couple of points for Wolfsburg in the 81st.
Bayern has two games left as the squad will face off with an away game at Bayer Leverkusen and a home match to close the season against Eintracht Frankfurt on June 6th.
