Breaking: Leon Goretzka injured in Bayern Munich’s game vs Monchengladbach

Just a few minutes after Leon Goretzka came on for Bayern Munich in their game vs Borrusia Monchengladbach, the midfielder headed back to the bench again. The German apparently suffered an injury and therefore was replaced by Tanguy Nianzou. Funnily enough, Nianzou himself would leave the Allianz Arena pitch a few minutes after coming on himself, after the French defender picked up a red card.

The extent of Goretzka’s injury remains to be seen. Of course, with Bayern having nothing to play for after having secured the title today, and the fact that the Euros are coming up, it could just have been a precautionary decision.

Goretzka will be undoubtedly a big part of any German Euros bid as a key lynchpin and workhorse in the German midfield. Hopefully Goretzka hasn’t damaged anything important and will even be able to play for Bayern Munich again this season.
