Julian Nagelsmann is already working on building his coaching staff for next season at Bayern Munich, according to various reports in recent weeks since the announcement of his signing. Now, ESPN is reporting that Nagelsmann is hoping to bring Barcelona’s top assistant to Bayern for next season.
Alfred Schreuder worked under Nagelsmann for two seasons at Hoffenheim before he left to take an assistant job with Ajax under Erik ten Hag. After one season in the Netherlands, Schreuder returned to Hoffenheim to take the head coaching gig after Nagelsmann joined RB Leipzig. He was sacked in July 2020 despite being in 7th place and joined Ronald Koeman’s Barca staff this season after the two met this summer on holiday in Ibiza.
When contacted by ESPN, Schreuder said he is having a very good time with Koeman at Barcelona and has no further comments.
ESPN reports that, “Sources close to the players at Barcelona speak glowingly of the impact Schreuder has had at Camp Nou.”
The futures of Miroslav Klose and Danny Röhl are still uncertain.
