Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller is not taking anything for granted against Borussia Mönchengladbach, but the Raumdeuter is getting a little impatient in waiting for his squad’s chance to clinch a ninth straight Meisterschale.

“We want to make the championship clear as quickly as possible. That is a big goal and we are very optimistic,” said Müller to FCBayern.com. “We got hungry again in the two weeks in which we had no game. We had time to recover physically and mentally. We already had a lot of fun in the first week of training, and we worked well. We are focused on the game.”

Müller, however, knows that nothing ever comes easy against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

“In the last few years we have never had an easy time against Gladbach. There were always close games, and sometimes a defeat,” said Müller.

Even though you might think this all feels commonplace for Müller, the veteran appreciates the effort it takes to be in contention as a team every season.

“It’s a bit crazy that every year we manage to tap this potential that is in the squad throughout the season. You are also grateful to your fellow players,” said Müller.
