With the season over, it’s time for a retrospective. Bayern Munich couldn’t recreate the success from 2019-20, but the 20-21 season was still pretty exciting in its own right. The unique playing conditions presented special problems for the team and coach, especially the incredible fixture congestion that hammered the team’s fitness.
There were plenty of highs and lows, and a ton of departing players this year. It also ended up being Hansi Flick’s last year in charge, which isn’t something anyone expected back when he won his treble. He at least added the two Supercups, a Club World Cup, and one final Bundesliga title before leaving — but it’s still a huge loss to the team.
Anyway, catch our full coverage of Bayern Munich’s postseason breakdown here. We have our usual player ratings, a team of the season, and plenty more stuff planned! This should be plenty to tide us all over until the Euros start.
