According to a report from Bild, Bayern Munich’s shopping list might not be exactly what you were expecting.
What positions are the Bavarians looking for? Per Bild, a winger and a center-back. Who exactly? Well, no center-back was specifically named, but Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was once again brought up:
It is possible that Callum Hudson-Odoi (20) will be an issue again. Chelsea FC should apparently be ready to agree to a loan this summer. In recent years he has been the preferred candidate for ex-trainer Hansi Flick (56) several times.
While not listed in the report, Ivan Perisic is allegedly one of the players who Inter Milan is looking to unload. Could the former treble-winner return to Bayern Munich at a cut-rate price?
In addition, Bild says it has a good idea on who might get sold — Bouna Sarr — and whose future is uncertain with the club — Niklas Süle. This is interesting because Bild is saying Nagelsmann prefers to play a back-three — which, yeah, most people have already speculated about. We have not formally heard what formation the ex-RB Leipzig manager will use, but a back-three would certainly shake up some things at Bayern Munich:
Bouna Sarr (29) should leave again despite a contract through 2024. A replacement candidate: Ex-BVB star Achraf Hakimi (22) — who is probably too expensive. According to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Paris Saint-Germain is ready to pay 60 million euros.
The future of Niklas Süle (26 / contract until 2022) has not yet been decided either. With Nianzou, Hernández and Upamecano, Bayern can currently only safely plan with three central defenders. Pavard has play on the right.
One final thought from the report was that Bayern Munich would not turn away a reasonable deal for a defensive midfielder, but will not exactly go hunt one down or overpay for one either:
Not a top priority at the moment, but if a suitable option is found, however, the record champions should strike. The holes left by Thiago (2020) and now Martinez have hardly been replaced so far. Marc Roca (24) disappointed in his first season in Munich.
Things could get interesting in the board room at Säbener Straße.
