The Austrian defender will be a free agent in the summer and it seems that he’s set for a move to Real Madrid.

David Alaba has played for Bayern Munich for his entire career and after his contract extension talks failed, the veteran will be on the move at the end of the season. Reports of the versatile Austrian defender joining Real Madrid are heating up, and now more and more contract details are emerging.

According to Fabrizio Romano, David Alaba and Real Madrid already reached an agreement for Alaba’s contract, which will make him one of the top earners in Madrid. Per the latest reports, Alaba will earn around €12 million per year and will match Sergio Ramos’ salary at Real Madrid.

Only two players will earn more — Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard, who earn around €15 million per year.

Sergio Ramos’ future is still not quite certain, as he did not reach an agreement for a contract extension with Los Blancos. Ramos’ potential departure could leave extra room for Alaba’s salary. Whether it will be a smart move — to ditch one of their defensive pillars for Alaba — remains to be seen.
