Joachim Low has publicly said that he is, in fact, entertaining the idea of recalling Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller to the German national team for this summer’s European Championships. This change of heart was right around the same time Low announced that he would be stepping down as Die Mannschaft manager after this summer’s tournament. Still, though, Muller wasn’t involved in Germany’s squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers back in March and Low has yet to confirm that he’s definitely going to bring Muller along this summer.

Per a new report from Bild, UEFA’s official Euro 2020 page recently posted a puzzle picture that was clearly Thomas Muller. They post these picture quizzes from time to time for followers and fans of the page to interact with and they usually include pictures from previous European Championship tournaments. Despite Muller’s outline being blacked out, it was pretty obvious that it was him for any Bayern and/or Germany fan. The jokester that he is, Muller comically commented on the picture, writing “Arjen Robben?”

Of course, there’s plenty of pictures of both current and former players that get posted to that page on a daily basis, so it is highly unlikely that UEFA knows something that Bayern and Germany fans don’t. Muller still has not played for the German national team since 2019, before he was dropped from the squad along with Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels in between Champions League round of 16 legs against Liverpool. Naturally, Muller’s comment received a plethora of laughing reacts and a lot of the replies called for his inclusion in the German squad for this summer, consistent with how the majority of German fans are feeling. There were over 1,000 replies to his joke comment, reveling in the Raumdeuter’s one of a kind sense of humor.
