On Friday, Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was the subject of a press conference for the French national team and when the discussion shifted to the rumors surrounding a potential transfer — and his hefty salary demands for a contract extension — the 24-year-old did not offer much more than an acknowledgement that his entourage is in negotiations with the Bavarians.
“There are negotiations,” said Coman (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “The negotiations are still ongoing.”
This is extremely interesting given the twists and turns that this story has taken in recent weeks. First, we had heard that clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea were eager to make an inquiry on Coman and then we had heard that Coman’s entourage had engaged super-agent Pini Zahavi to work his magic.
The latest news, however, saw Bayern Munich board member Uli Hoeneß issue statements about the club’s unwillingness to upset its wage structure. In the end, Coman wants to be paid like Leroy Sane.
With his deal set to expire in 2023, this saga could drag on for quite a while. Buckle up, it is going to be a bumpy road.
