According to a report from Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich has offered back-up striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting a deal through the 202/2023 season.
Choupo-Moting, who will officially be a free agent in July, will probably heavily consider the deal unless he has an offer which could offer him similar money and more game time:
Bayern’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting should receive a contract until 2023, according to AZ information. For some time there has been speculation about an extension for another year, so now there are even two!
The 32-year-old, who moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Munich on a free transfer last year, attracted attention especially towards the end of the season when he had to replace the injured Robert Lewandowski. Among other things, he played in both Champions League quarterfinals against PSG.
While this is probably great news for Choupo-Moting, it probably means that Joshua Zirkzee and Fiete Arp had better start packing. The young strikers have both fallen on hard times and do not appear to be close to usurping Choupo-Moting’s role — which means both could leave Bavaria this summer.
