Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer knows things will be different in the 2021/2022 season and the absence of assistant coaches Hermann Gerland and Miroslav Klose will surely leave a void on the squad.

“Of course it’s a loss, we have worked together for a long time. It hurts to see them leave. The experience that Hermann Gerland brings nobody else has,” said Neuer to Welt. “He has always looked after young players. Some who are now established first team players have benefited from him. Since we Both come from the Ruhr area, we have a very special relationship.”

Neuer also appreciated the work that Klose did while with the team.

“I played with Miro for years. I always enjoyed working with him,” said Neuer. “Miro is very meticulous and has worked well in the coaching staff.”

With Julian Nagelsmann taking the helm, it will be a new era at Bayern Munich with new coaches and new players. Still, Neuer is optimistic about the future.

“Julian will meet great personalities here, he can look forward to that,” said Neuer. “The move to FC Bayern is a big step, but we will help him.”
