According to a report from Bild, Tottenham Hotspur tried to convince former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick to join them in the Premier League until the very end of his decision-making process.
Tottenham Hotspur desperately wanted Flick to fill the coaching void in London, but it does not seem like any offer was going to derail the 56-year-old’s plans to take over the German national team.
Both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid were also said to be extremely interested in hiring Flick, but no one had the type of convincing proposal that could have potentially swayed Flick from taking what many think is his “dream job”:
Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown serious interest in Hansi Flick. Barça president Joan Laporta had video calls with Flick to try and convince him, while Florentino Pérez also directly contacted the coach. However Flick wants the Germany job [Kicker] pic.twitter.com/Rmcb7PnN9u

Flick, of course, was introduced as Germany’s new boss earlier today and will take over the post from Joachim Löw after this summer’s European Championships. Even with all of the attention from clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur, Flick just always seemed destined to take over for Löw.
