It appears that a series of developments have unfolded in Bayern Munich’s contract extension saga with Kingsley Coman. Per multiple reports from RMC and SkySports, the 24-year old has ‘approached’ super agent Pini Zahavi.

Coman, whose current deal with the Bavarians expires in 2023, allegedly wants to assess his options for the future and has thus, initiated discussions with Zahavi for guidance.

According to RMC’s Loïc Tanzi:

While negotiations between the Bavarian club and Kingsley Coman over the extension of a contract, which ends in 2023, are not progressing, the French international and his family have chosen to be accompanied by Pini Zahavi. The agent is to help Coman structure his thoughts on his future. Bayern Munich have no intention of parting with the former Parisian, but the attacking midfielder would like to take some time to think about his future career.

Here’s what Sky Deutschland is claiming:

The cooperation came about at the express wish of the player, who has so far been represented by his own family. FC Bayern would like to extend the winger’s contract, but Kingley’s father Christian has rejected all previous offers. Recently, there has also been repeated interest from England and Spain. Pini Zahavi will carefully examine all options in the coming weeks - the poker for Kingsley Coman is now on.

Shortly after, Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl and Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg chimed in to give their version of the story. Both German outlets have refuted the possibility of Zahavi conducting negotiations with the Bayern board on behalf of Coman.

However, the Israeli agent has been given the permission to search for ‘suitable clubs’ in England:

It’s certainly an interesting step from Coman (and a painful one for the Bavarian management). Yesterday, it was reported by Express that Die Roten have received an offer from English Premier League giants Manchester United. United are also said to be keen on meeting his wage demands.

For now, it remains to be seen what Coman’s motive is behind this move. It’s possible that the 24-year old could have hired Zahavi to facilitate a move to the Red Devils. On the other hand, the Parisian might be seeking financial appreciation from the club, given that his competitor Leroy Sane is reportedly on a pay package that could be ranging between 18 to 22 million Euros.
