Bayern Munich was well-represented on WhoScored.com’s Team of the Season.
Opting for a 4-4-2 formation, WhoScored.com placed three players from the Bavarians on its annual top squad. Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, and Joshua Kimmich were all placed on the roster — which had some very interesting choices.
Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and RB Leipzig’s Willi Orban were the team’s center-backs, while Union Berlin’s Christopher Trimmel and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic were listed on the outside, defensive flank. Kostic, of course, is really more of true left midfielder or left—winger.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha were the outside midfielders with Müller and Kimmich playing inside. Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland were atop the squad’s formation in a dual striker set-up.
FC Augsburg’s Rafał Gikiewicz was the goalkeeper:

Lewandowski, Müller, and Kimmich were all deserving of the honor considering how great each individual player was this season.
