One common trait among the players on Bayern Munich’s roster is that they are all extremely goal-oriented.
One of those most focused performers is winger Serge Gnabry, who appreciates winning the Bundesliga title, but still wanted more out of this campaign.
“After all our successes last season, I would have wished for more than one title again, because I always want to achieve as much as possible. The second round in the cup against Kiel was particularly annoying, that simply shouldn’t have happened to us,” Gnabry said in an interview with SPOX and Goal. “The even bigger disappointment was the end in the quarterfinals of the Champions League against PSG. The guys gave everything and played well. It’s bitter that we left.”
Surely, that Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain still stings mightily — and no doubt left many of the Bavarians feeling like they should have won more. When asked to rate the season, Gnabry did not sound overly happy with only winning one trophy.
“We have once again become German champions and we are very happy about that. But of course we would have liked to win more titles again,” said Gnabry. “We are competitive athletes, we play here at FC Bayern and we always want to win everything.”
