Bayern Munich manager stepped down from his post, but appears very likely to take over for his old boss Joachim Löw with the German national team.

One player who thinks Flick is custom-made candidate to lead Die Mannschaft is winger Leroy Sane.

“Hansi won seven titles at FC Bayern in 18 months — that speaks for itself. He did a great job here and his decision to leave the club has to be respected,” said Sane to Sport1. “Will he now be the national coach? We players only know what is written in the media. There seems to be a lot of evidence and it would certainly be a very good catch for the DFB.”

Sane might not have to wait too much longer for his reunion with Flick. The DFB could announced a formal hiring of Flick any day. If that happens, the 56-year-old will take over for Joachim Löw after the European Championships this summer.
