Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is fiercely fighting to attain his goal of being ready for this summer’s European Championships.

With Germany’s squad being announced earlier this week, Goretzka is already back on the training pitch and working hard to get back into top form in time to help Die Mannschaft prepare for the Euros — which will be no easy task for the Germans given the team starts in a group with France, Portugal, and Hungary.

Sport Bild reporter Tobi Altschäffl captured the latest news on Goretzka in the tweet below:

Good news from Leon Goretzka! The Bayern professional is back on the lawn, doing easy running training. The start of the EM is secured for him. Goretzka wants to join the national team at the training camp in Seelfeld.#fcbayern

Goretzka underwent two MRIs to assess the damage in his thigh, which was diagnosed as a “tear.” Now, however, it appears that the 26-year-old is well on his way to making a return.
