Hoffenheim would also like to keep Chris Richards. The player on loan from FC Bayern has fulfilled expectations, and the 21-year-old would also have the best opportunities for deployment and development in the coming season. “He has fulfilled exactly what we were looking for,” said Hoeneß, who already knew the US American from Munich. “One of whom we know what he can do. He quickly eliminated the little question mark about how that would look in the Bundesliga, he contributed with good performances to get through the second half of the season in a stable manner. Now he goes back to Bayern Munich, he has a contract there, everything else you have to see in the summer break.”

Richards’ contract in Munich runs until 2023. Only if new Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann does not make him a permanent fixture and Bayern also envisage another year of maturity for Richards, could Hoffenheim’s hopes of another loan be fulfilled.
