According to a report from Abendzeitung, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is sensing that there might be an opening for his club to make a move for Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle.
As we covered on Wednesday, Süle’s deal is set to expire in 2022, so the Bavarians either need to get the big man a contract extension this summer or move on from him to avoid another David Alaba situation where the club loses a valuable asset without retrieving any transfer fee.
With that in mind, Tuchel could be looking to capitalize on a situation where he thinks Bayern Munich has to sell the player:
According to AZ information, especially Chelsea with coach Thomas Tuchel is still very interested in a Süle commitment. The player himself sees his future calmly and would like to concentrate on the European Championship first of all.
For his part, Süle does not appear ready to engage in further negotiations with Bayern Munich at this point, so he can fully focus on closing out the Bundesliga season and then trying to help Germany win the European Championships this summer.
