Where have we seen this before? According to The Guardian, Manchester United see Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman as an alternative option to Jadon Sancho, if they're unable to land the Borussia Dortmund star this summer. The Red Devils are apparently seeking to bolster their winger department ahead of the upcoming campaign.
It's an age old rumor, one that will be familiar to fans of the Bavarians who remember when Coman was linked with big clubs around Europe a while back. While the Frenchman is in no way an undisputed starter at the club, the chances of a departure still remain slim.
With Julian Nagelsman set to come in this summer and the club lacking the funds for new signings, it's unlikely that Bayern would let Coman go at this juncture. Replacing the Frenchman would be difficult, especially when the team has needs elsewhere. Meanwhile, Coman has shown little indication that he wants to leave.
For now, we'll chalk this one up to overly-optimistic English rumor mongering. Coman will almost certainly stay in Munich, at least for another season.
