Rumored Bayern Munich transfer target Julian Draxler made it official: the 27-year-old has signed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain that will run through the 2023/2024 season.

Draxler’s extension had been rumored for a few weeks now and it was even reported that the Germany international turned down a more lucrative deal from the Bavarians in favor of a return to Paris:

Per PSG’s press release:

Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Julian Draxler has signed a three-year contract extension until 30 June 2024.

The Germany international joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2017 from VfL Wolfsburg and has gone on to play 172 matches for the current French champions, scoring 24 goals and providing 39 assists. The midfielder who came through the ranks at Schalke 04 has won 10 trophies for the Rouge & Bleu: three Ligue 1 titles (2018, 2019 & 2020), three Coupes de France (2017, 2018 & 2020) and three Coupes de la Ligue (2017, 2018 & 2020) as well as the Trophée des Champions in 2020.

A World Cup winner with the Die Mannschaft at Brazil 2014, Julian has made 56 appearances and scored 7 goals for his national team.

With his contract out of the way, Draxler can now focus on Wednesday’s team selection for Germany. The versatile midfielder could work his way back to Joachim Löw’s squad given the expanded roster.
