Report: Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is not interested in a PSG move

Despite what reports out of France say, Christian Falk flexed on that rumor to kill it off.

In today’s Daily Schmankerl, we covered L’Equipe’s story that said Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski was looking for a new challenge — specifically one that included a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

For those of us who lived through the “Great Lewy Rumorfest of 2018”, we could sniff out a Pini Zahavi planted story from six miles away. Zahavi uses the media and deep-pocketed power clubs in collaboration to try and create leverage when negotiating for his clients.

Zahavi wants to get a contract extension done for Lewandowski and will undoubtedly plant more of these stories until it happens.

One person who also lived through the 2018 debacle and the dozens of transfer rumors that emerged was Sport Bild’s Christian Falk. Like we theorized in the Schmankerl earlier today, Falk sniffed out a Zahavi special:

For its part, Bayern Munich seems to want to extend Lewandowski’s deal, despite his advancing age. A physical marvel, Lewandowski could “dessert before dinner” his way to another three or four top-caliber years at the rate he is going.

The Bavarians, however, have more pressing contract discussions at the moment with Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Süle, and Kingsley Coman among the younger players who are at more critical points of their existing contracts than Lewandowski.
