Joachim Löw will attend next Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga match at SC Freiburg, which will be the last matchday before Germany’s national team coach will announce his squad for the European Championships.
What does that mean for Thomas Muller? Rumors have circulated about his comeback to the national team, but nothing has been formally announced. Although, some stories suggest that Muller is very close to reuniting with Low after almost two years of absence from national football.
In a a recent story from ARD (via Abendzeitung), Joachim Low has reportedly already signaled to Muller that he will count on him for the European Championships via a phone call. Low added: “We checked everything possible and analyzed it again. Hummels and his BVB colleague Marco Reus, who has not been considered since October 2019, are also still hoping for a European Championship nomination.”
Joachim Low will announce the 26-man squad next Wednesday, and we all hope that we will see Muller back in the national team squad, but hopefully some other familiar names, such as Hummels, Reus, and Jerome Boateng.
