It has been a trying few weeks for Bayern Munich, so a few more days off will not hurt.

With no games on the slate this weekend, outgoing Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick have his team three days off to enjoy the weekend, rest, and hopefully regenerate.

It has been a long a trying season and even more tiresome last 12 months as the Bavarians have crammed a whole lot of football into a little bit of time. Bayern Munich could surely use the time away from the pitch to clear their collective minds as well. This is the part of the year where managerial changes, transfer talks, and contract negotiations all start to take center stage.

With Flick exiting Munich and Julian Nagelsmann incoming, there is probably at least some uneasiness within the roster about how smooth this transition will be — especially because it seems the entire coaching staff might turnover.

In addition, key players like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Niklas Süle are all in the midst of contract discussions, while Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, wants to push his client to the front of the line to get a new deal.

More, David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, Angelo Stiller, and Douglas Costa are all definitely leaving Bavaria, while Corentin Tolisso, Tiago Dantas, Alexander Nübel, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, and Christian Früchtl have all been heavily linked to moves away from Säbener Straße.

So, yeah, a couple of days off to get ready for the final weeks of the season seems like a terrific idea right about now.
